Canadian Retail Sales Gain 0.1%

Canadian retail sales rose to $35.9 billion in June – a 0.1 percent increase in May’s number. In terms of retail sales volume however, the gain was 0.9 percent. Overall, retail sales rose in five of 11 subsectors in June but were down in six provinces. The largest increase in dollar terms was a 2.1 per cent rise at motor vehicle and parts dealers.
